We Must Put an End to Gender-related Stereotypes and Stereotyping Essay

We Must Put an End to Gender-related Stereotypes I have comprehend it said many beats and by many women, I inclination that I were a man. Men have it so delicate. . . It is a description which stems from the fear and anger that comes from so many years of oppression and malignment a statement which stems from the pressure to meet the present impossible standards of knockout and bodily perfection. At times it seems to be an understandable statement to make. Admittedly, I have found myself wishing that genuinely absurdity when the pressures of being a muliebrity have seemed to be too much. But as I get older, and hopefully wiser, I am happy to say, and even very proud, that yes I am a woman. It is a very exciting time for me as a young woman to watch the changes that our world is undergoing at the present moment. So much is going on around us that it seems like anything could happen and that all things argon possible. It is all very scary and exciting at the same time. I am no t on the dot sure how or when the Womens Rights movement began, but I do cerebrate that we have come a long way, and that we also have a long way to go in the lead we are free of those gender-related stereotypes and wide pressures to be The Perfect Woman. I know that many skeptics will promontory whether or not that freedom is attainable, but I truly do believe that at this point in time all things are possible. I believe in the equality of the sexes. I believe in the equality of all people whether they be black, white, female, or male. Perhaps it is easy for me to be so positive and hopeful amidst these skeptics because of the family that I have. I dont designate that I was aware of the roles that men and women adopt because in my family there seemed to be no roles. Both of my parents have... ...he worth of the true beauty within us that so often goes unseen. I believe that every woman in America experiences this. There is so little self-acceptance as we end up living our li ves for the fantastic expectations of men. Both Alice Walker and Nora Ephron were finally able to sink their hang-ups but it took them so many years and an awful lot of bust to be able to finally throw up their hands and install up trying to meet all of the expectations of the world. It is sad that a woman must reach her mid-life, when the pure beauty of youth is lost forever, before she is finally able to shed all of those insecurities that are forced upon her throughout her life. It is hard, and I believe that an equal amount of effort is required from two of the sexes if we are ever going to be able to move beyond this. It is time to look within or we will continue to go without.

Does school smoke prohibitions relate to the academic accomplishment of pupils? What is the best scheme to ostracise smoke in schools? Does the socioeconomic position of the pupils have an consequence on the result of smoking prohibition policy?AimsPresently in that respect are many instances of school agitations ca employ by pupils through work stoppages which lead to break of activities and even devastation of belongings . Such actions have more frequently been associated to drug and mettle purpose among pupils which include smoke, imbibing and other manners of administrating drugs. This has besides take to the drastic decrease on public presentation layers of pupils. Since completely these are unwanted occurrences there has been changeless hunt on the realizable and virtually effectual agencies of commanding and at best wholly conveying to an terminal the usage of drugs in schools and all educational establishments. Smoking prohibition in schools has been one of the recommendations that have been put frontward but has faced several(prenominal) challenges with a batch of inquiries being raised on the strength of such a move, this has truly affected the execution of this smoke prohibition policy. It is hence really necessary that the arising inquiries be answered and put clearly to be unsounded so as to ease its execution and the best manner to happen these replies is through enquiry.Give n that this survey will non merely happen out the importance of smoking prohibition on schools but besides seek to work out the mystifier on the effectivity of such prohibitions, it will be a really important tool to the implementers of such policies. by means of the usage of the consequences of this research schools will be able to place whether it is deserving presenting such a policy, where they have non been, or keeping the policy, in a instance where they exist. At the same clip, the concerned implementers will place the adept schemes to be used to implement smoking prohibition policy in schools. Sing these benefits, it is obvious that this research will be important to the community at big since it addresses an issue that is of great concern among the communities in all districts. Since it touches on the youth person who are ever looked upon for future prosperity of any state, the significance will finally be felt all through the state and even beyond boundary lines.Liter ature reappraisalMany young persons get initiated into smoking through many ways and by polar persons, this is a wont that they continue with and neer program to discontinue about end-to-end their lives and many factors have been pointed out to do this ( Abernathy et al, 2002 Conrad et Al, 1992 ) . Even though school smoke prohibition is the cosmopolitan recommendation towards halting this wont, there is no touchable grounds that this policy when implemented in isolation leads to a lessening in the prevalence of smoke among pupils and the young person ( Moore et Al, 2006 pricey et Al, 2006 Kumar et Al, 2005 Pentz et Al, 1989 ) . Current surveies have suggested a figure of defects related to the execution of school smoking prohibition such as ineffectualness and the fact that such regulations may be unkind. Smoke and the related wellness behaviours are influenced by such factors as socioeconomic position, instruction, and the general societal environment ( E vanguards et al, 1 994 Harris et Al, 2009 Lowry et Al, 1996 ) . It has been argued that there are pupils who find themselves initiated into smoking through agencies beyond their control, hence, such pupils may be victims of the unintended load brought by school smoke policy ( Martin et al, 2000 ) .Records late presented indicate that there has been a decrease in smoke in developed states over the past decennary, the states that have had this noteworthy fitting include Canada, Australia, the United States, and a figure of states within Europe ( CDC, 2003 van der Wilk &038 A Jansen, 2005 ) . This decrease is nevertheless non due to the school smoke prohibition but is attributed to the extended control schemes that have been applied in these states which include Torahs on revenue enhancement and location of smoke, and societal selling. The fact that many schools have implemented the school smoking prohibition policy since its intromission by the Center for Disease Control, irrespective of whether i t is effectual or non, has shown that many schools recognize the inauspicious effects of smoke and are ready to work with the wellness sector in making a society which is smokeless .MethodologyThis research aims at following a population wellness exercise of adolescent smoke as this is viewed to be the perfect population inclined the aim of the research. With mention to the work of Leatherdale and others ( 2005 ) , a theory was formulated aphorism that there is a direct connexion between the smoke of young person within the school premises and the subsequent smoke of other pupils. This theory echoes the sentiments expressed by the contagious disease notional theme of adolescent substance usage which indicate that substance usage among striplings is super caused by one-on-one interaction and besides those expressed by other surveies. This research intends to use the multi-level analytical analysis techniques to help in proving for the sham that smoking prohibition has on sm oking abetment, these techniques will be used to analyze both school-level and hit factors at the same time. The research will besides concentrate on disaffection and school drop-out through the usage of academic public presentation which will move as an baste index of the former and as a precursor to the latter taking to a hypothesis associating the academic public presentation and being of regulations against smoking in schools. The hypothesis is that the academic public presentation of pupils in schools attribute regulations on smoke or smoke prohibitions will be go against compared the academic public presentation of the pupils in schools that do non hold such regulations or policies. This besides includes consciousness of the pupils in such schools of the being of such regulations or policies. It will besides be necessary to explicate multi-level theoretical accounts attribute in head the guidelines given by Aveyard et Al ( 2004 ) which offer on the application of single -level features over-controlling. In these guidelines they argue that it is non in order to command for single degree features in a instance where the multi-level surveies are school-based this is because such characteristics are linked both to the person and the school environment.Research proposeThe research intends to establish on pupils in different parts, such as different states, and utilize a sample design which is single-stage. In this sample design categories are indiscriminately selected and the stratification is done harmonizing to class and school grunge and attempts to integrate all pupils who are present on the twenty-four hours of the survey. before transporting out the research though, it will be of import to acquire combine from the parents of such pupils which follow the demands put frontward by the several heathland and instruction sections. In order to roll up equal information, the survey will utilize questionnaires consisting several points these points w ill seek to happen information sing school regulations, smoke and substance usage, mental wellness, and societal and demographic features. To guarantee that the information collected will be dependable and valid, a really broad population of pupils will be covered and the respondents will be accorded namelessness unless otherwise they do non necessitate it. The information will besides be compared to the available informations from similar studies to look into for consistence oddly where estimations are involved. The survey may nevertheless confront restrictions which may include inability to roll up information about school smoke policy from the decision makers therefore the information provided by the pupils will be indispensable every bit limited as they may look.Inclusion/ elimination standardsIndividual-level variablesThe primary single degree variable that would be considered is the being of regulations security review smoking harmonizing to the consciousness of the pupil, th is will be found out by presenting a inquiry that straight asks this and self-aggrandising the pupil an option of giving a straight earlier reply to the inquiry. The other variables that will be taken into consideration at the single degree during the research will be grade, gender, abode, socioeconomic position of the household, and highest degree of instruction of one of the parents, sooner the female parent, which is besides a socioeconomic degree index. All these variables are viewed to hold a direct consequence on the pupil as an single therefore are of import to see ( Fagan et al, 2005 ) .School-level variables there are variables that will be considered at school-level and these will be generated from the responses or informations collected from the single variables. The first variable in this instance is the prevalence of regulations or policy censoring smoke in schools and this will be deduced from the responses given by the pupils as persons and will bespeak the mean pe r centum of schools that have such regulations. This research is expected to take three workweeks divided into three subdivisions that are sequential and each enduring a hebdomad. The subdivisions will be the pre-study hebdomad, the intercession hebdomad, and the post-study hebdomad in that order. The pre-study hebdomad will be utilized by spy the smoke behaviours of persons in all the targeted groups and their interaction with pupils, the intercession hebdomad will be for roll uping the needed information through the agencies that have been identified, and the post-study hebdomad will be for analysing the information collected and coming up with a study.Ethical considerationSmoke is a wont that has been embraced by many and more are still fall ining the conference of tobacco users therefore it is an issue that is really exquisite to manage. Apart from prop a societal consequence on persons, it besides touches on the economic system since the concern of coffin nails generates hi gh degree of gross and besides provides employment to a good figure of persons. Recommending and implementing any policy that seems to deter of hinder the sale and usage of coffin nails ever draws assorted reactions from the general population school smoke prohibition is one such policy. It is therefore the consideration of the survey non to disregard such possible reactions and will avoid being personal on any issue throughout the research procedure. The survey will lodge to the issues that it targets without affecting on other issues that are non connected in any manner to the survey.ResultsThose masking uping smoking-free school policies argue that pupils are straight affected by the smoke of those persons who they view as their function theoretical accounts in the community and these include non merely grownups but besides fellow young persons who are ever around them. Their attitudes and development of involvement are based on the direction in which people around them handle smoking and how they talk about it and most of the times they will be given to emulate them. There is experimental grounds that have been put frontward with respect to this which indicates that most pupils tend to copy other young persons who smoke within school belongings Oklahoman or subsequently. With respect to this so it is right to province that schools holding smoking prohibitions should register low smoke rates among the pupils both within and outside school.Given that it is non easy to state precisely what per centum of success of non-smoking sum pupils is attributed to smoking prohibitions, there have been assorted grounds with respect to the effectivity of smoking prohibitions. In order to stop this statement so there should be a manner of turn outing that smoking prohibitions have really discouraged the young persons from smoking or affecting in smoking related activities. A figure of surveies have been carried out to happen this and a few have come out with the decisio n that there is a relationship between smoking prohibitions and decreased smoke among pupils and further stressing that this greatly relied on the mode in which such a policy is enforced. Conversely, other surveies did non successfully show the nexus that exists between smoking prevalence in schools and smoking prohibition policy in schools. The differences that appear in these are surveies are due to several factors such as the fluctuations in the schemes of implementing and implementing the policy, the purpose behind such policy, and the extent of coverage in footings of population and length of clip. In add-on to these it has been found that there are great fluctuations in the countenances imposed on lawbreakers and the degree of their enforcement, this is apparent both within and outside a individual authorization. The undermentioned hypotheses were therefore put forwardAll the pupils who said that their schools had non adopted the school smoke prohibition policies, or those who were non cognizant of the being of such policies would be extremely exposed to the jeopardise of smoking induction when compared to their chaps who were in schools where the policy was embraced and the pupils were cognizant of its being all the same the rates of smoke.Students who were in schools with regulations on smoking would appreciate the significance of holding protective mechanisms on smoking induction as compared to pupils from schools that do non hold such regulations. This implies that smoking prohibition would impact positively on the pupils in footings of attitude which would interpret to cut down smoke rates among the young person. The socioeconomic position of the pupils would be of great influence to the consequences without sing the approachability of the smoke prohibition policy in schools.

Clarkson Lumber Case Essay

Clarkson Lumber Company is a classic example of a privately held association that has experienced a rapid growth in gross sales and has reached a point where it is facing a shortfall of funds to sustain the expected growth in sales in the hobby years. The owner, Keith Clarkson, bought out his partners interest in the fraternity in 1994 for $200,000. His partner, Henry Holtz, took a none for the $200,000 with an interest rate of 11% and was collect in the semi-annual installments of $50,000 beginning June 30, 1995.The note was interpreted to give Mr. Clarkson time to answer for the necessary financing. Mr. Clarkson seems to be streamlet the smart set well, evident by the eonian growth in sales year after year. However, the company is running low on cash on hand, and trains some get up of financing to reach the expected sales of 5. 5 Million in 1996. Moreover, the borrowing limit set by the suburban Bank has been reached, actuate the bank to ask Mr. Clarkson to guara ntee the loan personally. Mr. Clarkson has been in communication with some other bank, Northrup Bank, which might be willing to extend a line of quotation rating of up to $750,000.Analysis There be several reasons for Mr. Clarksons need to rely on borrowing despite good services. Although the profits are good, they are not good enough in our view. The Net gather Margin has been close to 2% since 1993 (Exhibit D). The cost of goods relative to the sales is exalted and is keeping the profit margin low. In other words, the costs constitute increased at a faster rate than sales. The Cost of Goods interchange is consistently around 75% of sales. Secondly, the Return on Assets is roughly 5% in 1995 (Exhibit D). This ratio is kept low due to a higher(prenominal) total assets figure.Total assets are too inflated due to the liabilities taken in the form of merchandise credits by Mr. Clarkson The company is keeping a high volume of inventory in stock as shown by its Inventory Tur nover ratio average of 6%. The fair(a) Collection utmost has jumped from 38 days to 48 days since 1993 (Exhibit B). Thus, the special(a) amount of cash inflow is largely tied in inventory, and payments on loans. Mr. Clarkson has been unable to take full advantage of the trade discounts (2% if paid with in 10 days) during the last two years due to a shortage of funds arising from his purchase of Mr.Holtzs (his partner) interest in the business and the supernumerary investments in working capital associated with the companys increasing sales volume (Case, Pg 2). And even though Mr. Clarkson has been able to use the credit from Suburban Bank of up to $400,000 to finance the increase in sales, the ceiling has besides forced the company to use cash to fund itself and pay away loans. The current and quick ratios both support this fact (see Exhibit D). ground on the pro forma sheets there is an additional $251,000 needed to attain the endeavor of $5. 5 million in sales. Also, since part of the agreement is to break by from Suburban National Bank, the line of credit has to cover the 399,000 covered by the loan. With about $650,000 line of credit used, the remaining $100,000 of the new loan could be used to pay off Mr. Holtz and enable Mr. Clarkson to take advantage of the trade discounts by paying his suppliers back in 10 days thereof achieving the sales target with lower cost. Recommendations We inspire Mr. Clarkson to seriously consider taking the new line of credit. The line of credit will enable the company to take advantage of the trade discounts and pay off previous debt. clayey the costs should be a high priority and it might be worth while to consider holding less inventory (if it does not affect the service and quality clients expect). Mr. Clarkson should identify and prioritize the high profit margin products/services the company offers and focus on those. The company would also do well to try to reduce the Average Collection Period to with in 30 d ays. As far as Northrup Bank is concerned, we recommend that the bank extend the line of credit but makes sure that the company does not reach the ceiling again.A high proportion of the credit line would be used in the beginning but that is due to the line of credit covering the previous loan, Mr. Holtz interest and some prompt financing for inventory purchases. In the foreseeable future though, once the company sheds the loans it carried and get more streamlined, it will start increasing its cash gradually. Mr. Clarksons business references are excellent and the company has always paid its bills on time. Therefore, the company is not a risk and the line of credit should be approved.

SWOT ANALYSIS OF ONLINE BANKING SERVICE IN BANGLADESH SWOT Analysis To experience out the viability of a particular product we moldinessiness perform a SWOT Analysis of the product. This will analyze the Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities ,and Threats of the particular product. For analyzing the performance of Internet Banking in Bangladesh we the following SWOT Analysis is considered. Strengths Internet Banking is new in our market. Only a few banks are now offering net income services in solving banking problems. Most of the banks are offering whole accounting information online. Actual fund transfer and fund spending is not possible in all the banks that are offering lucre services. So this product will enjoy the benefit of a branch mover. It is cheap both for the banks and the customers. The bank will be able to discredit down the overhead costs and make more profit out of it.Internet banking will require less manual workers. Again the customers will be able to save time as well as money for their transaction needs. Internet banking is convenient as the service is available all the time at just a click away. Weaknesses Security breakdown The system will have a problem with the identification of the individual who is initiating the transaction. In Bangladesh, the identification of an individual is not yet supported digitally. So in that respect will be a problem in mournful to the Internet era for banking purposes just now.First we will have to develop a digital database of the users of the internet banking services. The transaction can be cancelled entirely via internet. The internet fundament of our country is not that much supportive to provide all time access to the web. So there will be a problem in executing the service with its full functionality. Opportunities Non-branch banking is seemly popular in our country. Many banks are now offering non-branch banking facilities. A person can withdraw or deposit money in any branch of the bank he has account with. The internet services are becoming very common to us.So a service offered through the internet will be widely accepted in the abutting future. Threats People have concern about security and privacy. They like to disembodied spirit their money with their hand. They actually dont believe in virtual money transfer. In the field of IT new technology is coming every day. The one which is very popular today might get obsolete tom orrow. So to have a competitive edge over the competitors the banks must always update their services. The movement towards online banking might marginalized the customers who do not have internet access or who are not technically sound.Despite the figurehead of online Internet service in Bangladesh, its scope is largely underutilized. The reasons include game service charges, lack of awareness, poor telecommunication systems, regime polity, low get power of potential clients, and lack of institutional support. 7. CHALLENGES / RISKS OF ONLINE BANKING SERVICE IN BANGLADESH broadly speaking it is believed that banks in Bangladesh are facing different problems adopting e-banking. Inefficiency and lack of adequate cognition of the top management of the last generation about ebanking may have to be put at the first place. The top management set the way for future development. For the change they must have soundless its significance and prospect. Only so, proper strategic plan co uld be done, hold adjustment with changing national and international business and technological environment could be made, the coming challenges from the national and international. competition happyly faced, and the market take retained and gained. The lack of communication channel and technological and technical infrastructure support may be seen as the second crucial challenges of e-banking in Bangladesh. It is not enough that there are enough communication channels, but they must be efficient, competitive, competent, cost effective and supportive to the services. In the millennium of ICT every nation has to think global, so worldwide efficient networking and WAP have to be ensured. Ensuring mature technology is also very cardinal for successful introduction of the e-banking which includes adequate software. Modern technology is available but oft very costly, but the countries like Bangladesh have other decisive comparative advantages that could be used to compensate the c ost of the modern technology. In this way, the modern technology could be made economically viable, cost-effective and competitive even in the world market. Qualified human resource is another factor that has to be considered, which means experts have to be made available in the market. In the long run such services cant be made competitive with hired or imported human resources. So, several(prenominal) educational institutes must be established for the supply of the experts for the management of the hard- and software of the sectors. It is expected that a part of the existing employees both from the rank and file may resist the change. To motivate and integrate them in the change, training and change of direction program must be launched. Security of the services is very important to popularize it. To protect the service from piracy and fraudulency reliable security systems must be ensured. In this regard, government, banks, and Bangladesh Bank must work together. So and so, ways an d means must be found to protect fraud and money laundering but at the same time ensuring fund transferring. 8. pass / SUGGESTIONS OF ONLINE BANKING SERVICE IN BANGLADESHMost of the countries have adopted E-banking and the consumers seem to like the convenience of E-banking despite some continuing hesitancy. The widespread uses of ATMs has paved the way for great acceptance of other forms of electronic money such as promising cards and POS. Direct deposit, and to a lesser extent, electronic bill payment, are and to a lesser extent gaining popularity. In addition, as more people purchase personal computer and use the internet, home banking should become more widely accepted. But a cashless or check less financial system is still not in the state of foreseeable future.Though there are 28 banks in Bangladesh, for the most part head quartered in Dhaka. Most of these banks do not offer online or electronic service such as Direct Deposit. There are some ATM machines, though not nearly as concentrated as in a developed economy. The Ministry of Science, Information and Communication Technology has given out the policy for the development in the IT sector. The ministry has concentrated on the following sections Human Resources breeding through Education and Training ICT Infrastructure development Research and culture in ICT Development of ICT Industry Development of E-Commerce E- judicature / E-Governance establishment Establishment of lawful Issues. The Government spending in ICT is exit to increase by at least 2% of ADPin coming years. The ICT companies will get preferential terms which will be able to meet up 20% of its tax income expenditure. BCC has attaind a centralized fund for R&D which would sanction contributing 1% of all profits from ICT-enabled services to the HRD fund. This will greatly help the development if ICT in Bangladesh. The software support for internet banking, i. e. FLEXCUBE is available in Bangladesh.Again Bangladesh Governm ent is working on the copyright law and the conservation of intellectual property act. After the successful implementation of all these policies and strategies we are expecting that more than 50% of the banks will be offering internet banking facilities that is now 12% only. E-banking is in its nascent state in Bangladesh. At present, Information Technology (IT) is a subject of widespread interest in Bangladesh. The government has declared IT as a thrust sector and set up a vision of Digital Bangladesh in 2021. But Bangladesh has a long way to go in a very short time to enjoy the fruits of information age.It will be only possible when there will be political commitment with better IT infrastructure, internal network, country domain and above all ahigh speed fiber optic affaire to the information superhighway. In order to ensure a successful practice of e-banking in Bangladesh, we recommend the following. * E-banking systems should be simple to use, fast and user friendly. * E-bank ing services should be standardized so that wherever the solution is used the customer is familiar with the procedure followed. * Government should compel the banking sectors to automate their operation and going online by a specific period. Provide adequate training and technological support to develop the manpower. * Appropriate legal framework. * Proper infrastructure development. * Government should implement the cyber laws to ensure proper security about customers information (i. e. honorable mention card number) . * Government should establish proper educational institution to create efficient IT professionals to support e-banking in Bangladesh. * Developing of integrated e-banking software. Government, in collaboration with the banks, should educate and inform its citizens and customers on the workability and effectiveness of E-banking.This will increase the authority level of customers. * The clearing house operation in Bangladesh should be to the full automated system. * Banks should have adequate research and technological background in this regard. * Bank can charge normal profit to enlarge the market size on the electronic banking products. * Political commitment to improve establishment and institutional strength is essential for successful application of e-banking. * As e-bank users mostly use ATMs and POS in most cases, the banks should emphasize on providing uninterruptible service.

Critics tend to describe Holden as being just an angst pierce teenager, whose perspective of the world around him is warped. While these critics may v iew these attributes as annoying, they actually serve to provide an emotional depth onset by Holdens depression. For example, Negativity and hopelessness is often a symptom of depression, so when Holden narrates, Im pretty sure he yelled vertical luck at me. I hope not. I hope to nether region not. Id never yell Good luck at anybody. It sounds terrible, when you think about it. (78, Catcher) Salinger is simply channeling the thoughts of a depressed teenager.Depression is a disease which causes the victim to enter this pessimistic state of mind, so by nature outside observers may be irked by Holdens actions. However, this excerpt intelligibly illustrates the warped mindset of a depressed teen. Depressed teenagers tend to rely that their situation is entirely hopeless, and cannot possibly be rectified. The utter hopelessness which accompanies depression is not a rare phenomenon and is perhaps the most troubling construction of the disease. Holdens actions in the novel could ea sily be attributed to these symptoms.According to Teen Depression, depressed teenagers tend to look for relief in sex, drugs, or inebriant abuse. In the short time frame of the novel, Holden sought out 2 out of the 3 aforementioned items. These actions could be attributed to his desire to seek out a temporary form of relief in his life. Drinking allows Holden to ply from his heavy, pessimistic mentality. While Holden was with the prostitute, he was able to rid himself of his overwhelming isolation. Eric Lomazoff summarizes Holdens situation trounce when he says that Holden was simply trying to make the best of his life, though ultimately loosing that battle (Lomazoff).Holden Caulfield is not a seriously person, as so many critics make him out to be.
