The Necklace Character Analysis

In this story, The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant, diamonds certainly arent a girls best friends. Mathilde Loisel (the protagonist of this story) is ace of those pretty and appeal girls, (pg. 221) who is born into a family of shop assistants. She often dreams of the riches she doesnt perk up and silent antechambers, heavy with eastern tapestries, lit by torches in lofty bronze sockets. (Pg. 221) counterbalance though the invitation to an evening reply is the invitation she has always hoped for, she feels miserable for she has uncomplete dress nor jewelry fitting of going to such an occasion. To convey her happy, her keep up (Monsieur Loisel) gives her the money that he saves to her so that she could buy a ball g witness. She borrows a diamond necklace from her rich friend, Mme. Forestier. After the ball, she couldnt find th e necklace and because of her dignity, she couldnt involve herself to tell her friend. She ends up buying an identical necklace, which she can non afford without debt. This causes the Loisel agree to experience the ruin of low-class life. In the end, it is revealed that the necklace is a fake. Mathilde Loisel, instead of being well-provided with her own pleasures of simple life yearns for the luxuries of the sloshed therefore leading her to a miserable life. Mathilde Loisel is miserable because she yearns for the degenerate lifestyle of the upper-class which, in reality, she cant have. She is attached to a little clerk in the Ministry of Education (pg. 221) who is not a rich man but can supply for basic needs. While Mathilde is a person who is never satisfied with what she has, her husband enjoys the simplicity of life. Her husband is a very understanding, loving and caring character who loves her and would do anything to please her.
